# Who does what to launch

> What the platform provides, what the agency does, what the business owner does, and what can delay a launch.

Three parties are involved in every assistant. Knowing who does what avoids surprises on launch day.

## The platform

Whoever runs InstaForge (on instaforge.app, that's us) provides:

* Hosting, updates, nightly encrypted [backups](/running-the-agency/backups-and-monitoring) and monitoring.
* **The Meta app for Instagram.** Agencies don't create their own Meta app or go through Meta's App Review to connect Instagram: every client logs in to their own Instagram account through the platform's app.
* The AI connection, unless the agency uses its own AI key.

## The agency

* Builds the assistant: knowledge, prices, rules, question flows ([quick start](/getting-started/quick-start)).
* Tests it in the [playground](/build-the-assistant/playground) and with [answer tests](/build-the-assistant/answer-tests).
* Sends the business owner the connection link, and sets up WhatsApp or Messenger with them when they want those channels.
* Keeps it working after launch: the [morning review](/build-the-assistant/morning-review), [unanswered questions](/build-the-assistant/unanswered-questions) and the client's questions about it.

## The business owner

* Gives the facts the assistant needs: services, prices, opening hours, policies.
* Connects their own accounts from the link the agency sends (Instagram in a few minutes; see below for the others).
* Answers the conversations the assistant hands over, in their [client portal](/client-portal) or the inbox.

## Each channel

| Channel | What it takes | Who | Usually ready |
| - | - | - | - |
| Website chat | Paste one line into the website, or share its link | Agency or the site's developer | The same day |
| Telegram | Create a bot with @BotFather and paste its token | Agency | The same day |
| Instagram | A Business or Creator account with message access on, then log in from the link | Business owner | The same day |
| Messenger | A Facebook Page, a Page access token and a webhook in a Meta app | Agency with the business owner | A day or two |
| WhatsApp | A number on the WhatsApp Cloud API, a permanent token and a webhook in a Meta app | Agency with the business owner | A few days |

WhatsApp and Messenger use a Meta app of the agency's or the business's own (see [WhatsApp, Messenger and Telegram](/whatsapp-and-messenger)), because the number and the Page belong to the business.

## What can delay a launch

* **The Instagram account isn't a Business or Creator account**, or message access is off in the Instagram app. Both take a minute to fix ([how](/getting-started/connect-instagram)).
* **Meta hasn't approved the platform's app yet.** Until then, only Instagram accounts added to the app as testers can connect. Ask the platform owner to add the account.
* **WhatsApp:** registering and verifying the number, and Meta's review of the business name, can take a few days. Messages more than 24 hours after a customer's last message need an approved template.
* **Missing facts.** An assistant without prices or opening hours hands most questions to a person. The [go-live checklist](/getting-started/go-live-checklist) lists what to collect.

<Tip>
The website chat and the playground need nothing from Meta, so a client can see their assistant working on day one while the other channels are set up.
