# Client health

> Spot clients drifting away before the renewal: fewer messages, unpaid fees, an owner who stopped logging in.

The clients list marks clients who seem to be drifting away, so you can call them before the renewal, not after.

## What's looked at

| Signal | When it counts |
| - | - |
| Fewer messages | Customers wrote at least 40% less in the last two weeks than the two before (from 20 messages or more) |
| No messages | A live assistant got no messages at all in four weeks |
| Unanswered questions | 15% or more of questions went unanswered in two weeks |
| Unpaid fee | Last month's fee isn't marked paid by the 10th (only shown to people who see billing) |
| Owner away | The business owner hasn't signed in to their portal for a month, or never did |
| Something broken | The [hourly channel check](/running-the-agency/channel-checks) finds a problem |
| Unhappy customers | Fewer than 60% said the chat helped ([Did this help?](/conversations-and-customers/ratings), from 5 answers) |
| Annoyed customers | Three or more were handed to the team annoyed in two weeks |

Each signal weighs differently. Together they make a health score out of 100: **Worth watching** at 80 or below, **At risk** at 60 or below. Hover over the badge on a client's card to see the reasons, or open the client: the **Client health** card lists them next to what the assistant earned.

**Needs attention** (2) shows only the clients that aren't healthy, the most at risk first. Healthy clients show no badge.

<Tip>
  When a client turns yellow, call them with their [earnings page](/grow-sales/earnings) open. It's the easiest renewal conversation you'll have.
</Tip>

AI agents connected to InstaForge can read it too, with the `client_health` tool. See [AI agents](/running-the-agency/ai-agents).
