Three parties are involved in every assistant. Knowing who does what avoids surprises on launch day.

The platform

Whoever runs InstaForge (on instaforge.app, that’s us) provides:
  • Hosting, updates, nightly encrypted backups and monitoring.
  • The Meta app for Instagram. Agencies don’t create their own Meta app or go through Meta’s App Review to connect Instagram: every client logs in to their own Instagram account through the platform’s app.
  • The AI connection, unless the agency uses its own AI key.

The agency

  • Builds the assistant: knowledge, prices, rules, question flows (quick start).
  • Tests it in the playground and with answer tests.
  • Sends the business owner the connection link, and sets up WhatsApp or Messenger with them when they want those channels.
  • Keeps it working after launch: the morning review, unanswered questions and the client’s questions about it.

The business owner

  • Gives the facts the assistant needs: services, prices, opening hours, policies.
  • Connects their own accounts from the link the agency sends (Instagram in a few minutes; see below for the others).
  • Answers the conversations the assistant hands over, in their client portal or the inbox.

Each channel

WhatsApp and Messenger use a Meta app of the agency’s or the business’s own (see WhatsApp, Messenger and Telegram), because the number and the Page belong to the business.

What can delay a launch

  • The Instagram account isn’t a Business or Creator account, or message access is off in the Instagram app. Both take a minute to fix (how).
  • Meta hasn’t approved the platform’s app yet. Until then, only Instagram accounts added to the app as testers can connect. Ask the platform owner to add the account.
  • WhatsApp: registering and verifying the number, and Meta’s review of the business name, can take a few days. Messages more than 24 hours after a customer’s last message need an approved template.
  • Missing facts. An assistant without prices or opening hours hands most questions to a person. The go-live checklist lists what to collect.
The website chat and the playground need nothing from Meta, so a client can see their assistant working on day one while the other channels are set up.
